In order to discourage whale behavior and to put the new token in the hands of the community, I submit the below proposal.
Imagine being an early user of a protocol. You performed all of the required actions well in advance of the snapshot, incurring very large Eth gas fees along the way. Then at long last the protocol announces their much anticipated airdrop! Only you don’t qualify due to some arbitrary minimum transaction size. Think Cowswap’s $1000 minimum. This scenario places the token only in the hands of rich whales and excludes small everyday users. There is so much focus in this space on how to exclude “farmers”, but it is whales that we must avoid because whales WILL dump their airdrop and crash the price. Therefore is a list of bot/farmer accounts you can exclude, but focus should be on giving too much token to whales.
Therefore, I propose an equal token distribution to all users. Criteria for inclusion would be 1. bridged asset to zkSync. 2. Connected wallet to ZigZag exchange. 3. Performed a swap of any amount. A bonus would be given to repeat users and early adopters.
Snapshot should be 24 hours before token generation event to give an opportunity for those who learned about it late to still get a chance to participate. The early adopters bonus would be for those who used the protocol before the Twitter announcement on June 20. The repeat user bonus would be those who did two or more swaps on two different days.
Under this proposal, there would be NO tiers and NO reward for social media activities. Tiers only serve to give larger reward to whales. The goal of this proposal is for an even and fair token distribution and to disappoint the whales. Early community supporters and social media evangelists deserve a reward, but this proposal is only for a wallet-based snapshot for protocol users. Many tokens have a separate reward pool for community engagement and I support us to do the same. Last, the airdrop should be worldwide with no country being excluded. $ZZ should be for the people!
Thank you for reading my proposal and I look forward to the discussion.
